The Norman Years
Known as The Men from the North the Normans were feudal war lords who settled in land that became known as Normandy.
In todays world that area is located in the north of France bordering the channel that runs between the Celtic Sea and the North Sea.
Our family lineage follows 6 Generations of Normans from Rognvald around 830 a.d. to William Bertrand 991 a.d.
William Bertrand's sons fought in the Battle of Hastings in 1066 with their cousin William the Conqueror.
It is rumored that a Norman's most prize possession was not his land or his castles, it was his horses. The Normans bread a fierce bread of war horse that carried the knights into battle.
